what is contemporary art today - 2013

I'd say it's 3 things - maximal, tech heavy, graphic/cartoon based and in combination with each other...

exp.
maximal is abundance of intricate details that cover massive spaces...

tech heavy is todays minimal - mastery of complex techniques
ie plastics, 3d printing, industrial design based - evidence of human hand is usually absent...

graphic/cartoon based - self explanitory
