Did I really just read all of this, they are only a small label and doubt people would boycott them.

Nah, we don't base central pillars of our spiritual life on the magna carta man. As the guy in his blog explained, shit is serious to them, and continues to be, in a big way. Also, Jay Z isn't from a people that systematically enslaved and oppressed English barons in the 13th century.

Don't think any offence was intended, to them, it was just something that looked cool. Either way, seems like there's been a peaceful resolution. Personally I wouldn't be othered, but I guess it's how many people do wanna offend for the sake of label artwork?

I agree with you as I thought the artwork just looked nice and had no real meaning behind it. The guy could have just sent a friendly email to them, it's not like they are a huge operation and need to social media to get some sort of response out of them.

Jesus yes, but not Muhammad. I don't see what's offensive about the artwork, if anything it promotes Maori culture.

Some believe that youre not supposed to depict muhammad, which ties in a little bit better with what the professor wrote.

How does that promote maori culture? How is an outsider to know that its maori and not hawaiian, tongan, samoan, etc? Its just ignorant, and thats whats offensive about these sorts of mishaps.

Their artwork is out there now, he can't do anything about it unless he wants to foot the bill you change all of the products currently in store with alternative artwork. This guy is being super unreasonable expecting a small label to do such a thing.
Think I will be buying a Livity Sound release tomorrow!
