nuum also moving at 130 so i guess the next thing to come out of it will be between the two
which brings us to 145, but not through breakbeat or jungle

It's basically about drum's.
The music is created in 145 bpm so IT IS NO Big beat, Drum & Bass , Breakbeat or Jungle.

nah flag that blackbeard stuff.
either make grime or garage imo tbh tbf

The jungle revival tunes are fucking terrible. Don't come close to the quality of the Tom & Jerry/Dillinja/DJ SS/Dead Dred type tunes they try to ape. It's like a really cheesy cartoon version of the real stuff. Every tune has to have a "sounboy murderah" type sample and gimmicky amen edits. Like that jungle tune off the new mark pritchard EP. Fucking awful. The zomby one is bad too. Haven't really listened properly to the Special Request album, but what I've heard sounds really basic.
All those tunes just lazily lift the iconic aesthetic stuff from jungle. Amen breaks, dub sirens, ragga vocals, reese, "WHEEL AND COME AGAIN" and so on, but forget to actually orchestrate the beats in that magic way the good jungle tunes do. It just feels so fake and contrived.

Keep an eye out for Sully's Solitaire release. So sick man. "Zero Sum" is a tune on there.
Also, check out Andyskopes - True Human Emotion.
Other than those two, I agree with you man.

@harkat
i have to agree with you on that one. not a fan of the straight up jungle thats coming out at the moment. it misses the point, it sounds too clean, too digital.

I like the Special Request stuff a lot
He does not try to make it sound exactly like old jungle tunes imo, but more like reframes the underlying key elements of jungle with a more modern aesthetic
or something along those lines

Plus filter dread last loops i guess they were in that "jungle revival" abd he is one of the best producers atm
Tbh i feel sad for people that say that they cant find new good music anymore, even though only a few producers still truth to 140 they are a lot of very talented producers tha come from the DS scene that are doing amazing things. I am constantly exited by the new tunes that im discovering plus i will never get bored of the old dubstep stuff.

Filter Dread is sick, but would hardly call him a jungle producer. He takes elements from it, but he's got so much going on that you can't stick him in that bracket.

140 (in terms of ds) feels like its run its course for now.
there will always be good productions but i dont think anything groundbreaking or special will suddenly appear

That is why i used the brackets, i dont think that there is a jungle revival like harkat said, just people using nreaks and old school samples, nothing new.

there definitely is an attempt at a revival going on. revivals are always bad. still there's so many old, brilliant jungle tracks it shouldn't matter.

Yep, pretty much. And that's how it is/will be with dubstep.

well this is me. so where do you find new music? not just you but everyone? also I'm not just looking for new releases, also old tunes that I haven't discovered yet. I have been using discogs more often to find music but you can't preview it as easily as you can on youtube. I suppose most of you use surus/boomkat/discogs/shit like that?
Also with discogs you can only find releases, no dubs.
