Haha word. I can't stand it when people try to appropriate really common things as a lifestyle and then act the part. Like yeah, I love bodybuilding, but I'd like to believe there's more to me than lifting heavy objects for fun and that I shouldn't live a certain lifestyle because that's expected of you when you do it.ultraspatial wrote:no worries. and you're right, i wouldn't be doing this as a statement, as i never really got why some people get overly serious about their beliefs. i mean, you're free to do whatever you want, fine by me, but i think you should do it for the right reasons and not just to feel special or whatever (see: stereotypical mouthy vegan sxe fat positive lgbt friendly tumblr feministsGenevieve wrote:Not trying to change your mind. Not putting you on the spot, I'm just curious. You always struck me as pragmatically minded.
Edit: never mind, I misread it. Eggs are what gives you stomach cramps)

I think there's a lot of legitemate reasons to be vegan, none of which I agree with enough to commit to the lifestyle. But when people do it for the sake of it and appropriate a completely pre-fabricated personality associated with veganism, I really cringe.

This girl I know is vegan and gets perscribed brainmeds. The capsules are made of animal parts, so she tears them up and just eats the powder, which tastes awful.m8son wrote:If you are a vegan you should not be allowed to take medication or have chemotherapy or any other medical procedure that has been tested on animals.

By that argument, anti-war campaigners should benefit from technological advancements pushed by war.m8son wrote:If you are a vegan you should not be allowed to take medication or have chemotherapy or any other medical procedure that has been tested on animals.
