Jini - "In the Night"(Derocc Remix)(Female vocal brostep)

Post by Derocc » Thu Oct 03, 2013 3:29 pm

Hey everyone! About a year ago I produced a song for a friend, Jini, a former Kpop singer, and recently decided to a remix/re-edit of the song. Its got lots of vox chops, some heavy grimy bass, and melodic fluffiness. Its very similar to the original I produced last summer but the mixing is night and day between the two (IMO) Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Not a fan of the brostep sound, so the tune itself isn't my fan.

From a production point, the vocal is sounding a little on the quiet side like it's getting lost behind the other elements...maybe bring it up a bit or else create some space by EQing the other bits around it.

For sure, I can hear that. I didnt dump the vox into protools like I normally do with vocals so there is less processing that what I normally would. Ill revisit it and look into eqing some space for em

Snare sounds a little weak to me, synths are fucking killer. Love the uplifting vibe, sounds like some of Zomboy's old stuff, which is awesome for me! Agree with Wub about the vocals, but that's easy enough to fix.
