thanks for listening man! yeah, i probably didn't spend as much time with the mix down as i could have. kinda hard for me when there's like 15 layers to niche everything out.

mainly been working with my composition, trying to make it a little more classical in style - which is why it changes so much. really appreciate the feed back though - your tracks are really good.

I'm going to quote my previous post because this song seems to have a bit of the same problem.

The drums are having a hard time coming through. With mixing, less is more. Try and have the drums peak at -10db and everything else below that. The natural inclination is to want to mix everything in as loud as possible but you need to give everything headroom so that it's clear and sounds fluid. On the master bus, just add some gain and slight bit of compression till it's peaking at ~ -.03 it'll be just as loud but much clearer. It'll come out loud but with the clarity that you hear in well produced tracks. If you can, you should get izotope ozone, it works wonders for mixing. You should also read the manual, it's a great way to learn to mix.

Your synths and chord progression are great. There's serious potential for this song but the drums are just muddied up, especially the kick. The kick is overly compressed and has lost most of its transients that give it it's pop. All in all, it's got potential, keep up the good work!

thanks for the listen man, i mean, the chords and progression is what i really worked on. have to say though, i wanted the kick to sound like that. didn't want much snap, just an 808 and punchy kick layered and low-passed (then some ny comp). kinda wanted the kick to sound more like pop music kicks.

also, that kick is at -10 db (have a lot of the synths duck for it though)... snare at -12db, everything else is below -15db. but yeah, def could spend more time with the mix down to bring the other instruments out a bit. but really, thanks again for the constructive criticism!
