The buildup starts out nice, I just think you need a bit of work on the mixing. The drums are having a hard time coming through. With mixing, less is more. Try and have the drums peak at -10db and everything else below that. The natural inclination is to want to mix everything in as loud as possible but you need to give everything headroom so that it's clear and sounds fluid. On the master bus, just add some gain and slight bit of compression till it's peaking at ~ -.03 it'll be just as loud but much clearer. It'll come out loud but with the clarity that you hear in well produced tracks. If you can, you should get izotope ozone, it works wonders for mixing. You should also read the manual, it's a great way to learn to mix. You've got some good ideas in the song, keep it up! :D

Cheers for the constructive feedback. i normally mix my tracks down to between -6 and -10 db, my master channel ends up being about -1.5/-2db before limit/compression. i got a second build and drop i want to add to it so will have another go with the mix down then.

I didn't think the drums were having a hard time coming through at all actually, certainly didn't sound muddied by the sub or mids.

What would help this one come to life a bit more is losing the half time style hats, step them up a bit, get a little shuffle on them and give the track some pace, as it did seem to sort of plod along.

Thanks for the feed back Echoi. I'm looking to finish this track and add a second section and so far thinking of having different hat rhythms at different parts. Don't know when il be done but will probably be posted up on here.
