thing that irriated me on facebook:

ex girlfriend added me, we got along like a house on fire and always had pure excellent banter but she lived in london and i live in northern places so called it off. i was like, ''ey sweet, might be nice to have a pleasant catch up'. asked her how's she's doing and she said "ye just added u cos iwanted to see the status u posted telling girls not to wear makeup".. (status i posted saying basically 'girls normally look a lot nicer without makeup' caused an angry feminist uproar among her friends and i got flayed alive by a load of bitches on facebook)

i was well pissed off. the bizzle didnt even say "hi hows it going" fs

oh ye and the she preceeded to tell me i was patronising. women.

yes they do. without interest, no action. you may call it "motive", "need" or whatever, but the meaning stays the same. you eat because you want to have energy for the day. you sleep because you want to recover. you give a homeless guy $100 because you want to be a better christian than the pope and be all fedora about it.

some people post stupid shit on facebook because they want attention. some positive attention, some negative, and most don't even care as long as they get some form of attention.

you posted something on facebook - I would definitely agree with your message btw - and in return got (mostly negative) attention. if that was your goal, good for you. but if you wanted a debate and fruitful discussion, it would've been wiser and more rewarding to voice your oppinion in a small circle of friends and try to make them understand your point.

facebook is one of the worst communication channels there is. it's public, so people won't be honest and adapt their rhetoric. also, 70% of information is lost due to lack of mimics and body language. it's not as spontaneous as a face-to-face conversation and you don't get to uppercut stupid people as soon as they start chatting shit.

imho facebook is great for organising the time you spend MAINTAINING on your social life more efficiently (e.g. fixing a date & time to catch up with your ex), thus granting you more time to actually LIVE your social life. also it's good for sharing vids and news articles, since these forms of information have no need for an additional interactions between two people.

my motive was to be a dick about all that because I want attention and acceptance (or sth sth).

well, as i said above "just trying to reinforce the idea that women dont need to go ott n cake their faces in slap to look nice". i guess my motive was that if one person read the status and thought "oh safe, its nice to hear this from a male's point of view" (which a lot of people did say), then it would hopefully make one of my friends feel happier about themselves. i didnt expect to get anything out of it. its just a nice idea that i couldve made one of my mates feel less insecure; i value my homies above everything else (i only have people who i'd happily stop on the street and have a conversation with on facebook, no randomers from highschool n shit).

it was actually like 80:20 positive:negative reactions though, most people were like "ye i endorse this shit" or "its nice to hear that from men" and then other people, claiming to be all feminist n shti were like "rer rer rer if we wana wear makeup to feel better then we can do wotever we want, fuk u we do it for ourselves not for u insert rageagainst the machine lyrics here" - which is kinda bs because everyone knows they mostly do it because its what's been drilled into them by media and society
