That's what im saying. In reality its no different than a fucking weekend, and yet everything becomes overpriced, real rushed, and then there's the joy of trying to find a cab to get home. Not to mention its a pretty shitty "holiday" for those who have to work it. I'll tell you right now that the money isn't worth boozing up yuppie assholes who have places to be!!!!
At then end of the day, the best nye's I've had were when I stayed in with people.

Ugh so now do I not only have to email in when I arrive and when I leave but I also now have to swipe in on some card system that is at the other end of the hospital from the one I arrive at. laaaame.

This.
Gatherings with your mates or a house party is far far better than going out on NYE. I went out '10 and '11 then just decided to have ~14 close mates round mine last year and it was a far better (and not to mention far cheaper) night. Used to go to house parties when I was younger too and they were always much better than going out in town is these days.

cleaning people woke me up at 8 in the morning with their vacuums and then 20 minutes later had to wade through snow in my slippers because the oil delivery guy was too retarded to follow the path i shoveled for him the day before.
