us and uk politics arent the same. u have a blatant dictatorship of rich corporate scumbags pulling the strings behind the scenes, whereas we have shit democracy that favours rich scumbags who get in power and act like dictators, while helping out their corporate mates on the sly with a bit of nudge nudge wink wink tax evasion etc. its massively different, you see

Well, we seem to be running out of options. This would have to be done on a very large scale and the government and corporations would have to know that they are being boycotted, so just for that very fact it would have to be politicized.

I mean a few conscientious objectors of our current democracy is all good if people are doing for their own moral reasons but this would have to be on a massive scale to be a success.

Otherwise, it is just going to be seen as apathy.

It's sad when you realize that the government is more concerned about corporate interests than it is about its own people.

Agree, totally.

It is completely passive. It is not even passively assembling in a public square. There is nothing for them to attack, well there is, but their angles are diminished. They can't beat, abduct, charge, incarcerate, use microwave or sound weapons. They'd have to go after unions, pensions, and governmental benefits. I don't see them stacking up on houses pulling people out into the streets and forcing them back to work.

There are a lot of completely dissatisfied people in this country, people that have lost everything, with nothing left to lose. I know of many people that are stockpiling rations, water, weapons and ammunition. I don't know if everybody is totally aware of how far we've gone, and how close it is.

We need to just hit the pause right now and stop this, stop all of it, and return to a real, actual, functioning political system. Capital's effect on the political process has to be seriously curtailed. All of the media deregulation that happened under Bush needs to be restored and bolstered. I believe in the democratic process and the vitality of the constitution, but we don't have that now, and are suffering the consequences.

There are bad things coming. Open confrontation will not be to the benefit of the people or their civil liberties.
