Thought I'd make myself a little scarce over Christmas/NY as I could feel myself getting a bit tetchy with the ninja'dem. Back on the wagon with a smile now...Johnlenham wrote:He livesmagma wrote: Mother nature reminding us city dwellers that she's still boss.

Are you sure it wasn't just skream or benga doing a mix ?Anyone in London see/hear the fucking enormous lightening strike yesterday afternoon/evening? Must've hit one of the big buildings near us... massive white flash and a HUGE bang that set off a bunch of car alarms and was still echoing around the City 10 seconds later. Honestly thought a fucking bomb had gone off!

I'm considering studying psychology even though I haven't taken any courses in it before. Should I? Any ninjas have any experience? Cheers.

Do you enjoy statistics?Harkat wrote:I'm considering studying psychology even though I haven't taken any courses in it before. Should I? Any ninjas have any experience? Cheers.
Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
I was gonna do psychology but didn't for two reasons: while it is an incredibly interesting subject (imo of course) there are very few job prospects as pretty much everyone who can't decide what to take will take it lol. The other reason is the entry requirements are too damn high, at the uni of birmingham you needed AAB to get in which was too high for me so instead i picked the obviously much easier subject of chemistry which needed BBB.

Hmm. Not particularly. I thought psych wasn't number-y though. Caledonian Uni Glasgow's website says the following for their psychology undergraduate course:
Sounds pretty cool. Are statistics heavily involved? How?In psychology, we describe, explain and predict thoughts, feelings and behaviours, which means we search for answers to explain: Why we spend so much time on Facebook? And why we want what we can’t have?
This programme includes modules on cognitive, social, developmental and biological psychology and also explores abnormal, health and sport and exercise psychology. These modules are taught through various specialist laboratories, seminars and work placements.

m8son, the entry levels for IB for taking psych at Glasgow Caledonian are actually pretty chill

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
There is a big chunk of statistics involved, yes. I think it's mostly lumped together in one section of the course though so if you can stick it through then you'll be alright. (This is all based on memory from six or seven years ago so maybe ask more peopleHarkat wrote:Hmm. Not particularly. I thought psych wasn't number-y though. Chemistry is less popular and Psychology more soughtafter so they can afford to be more picky.Electric_Head wrote:So chemistry is easier than psychology?

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts Thread!
saw someone that runs a prominent blog out at a night not long ago, and they were stood to the side/ on the stage all night, stoney-faced, not a single movement, looked like they were at a funeral.
Yet you see all this hype from them on social media, all capitals and shit, going i-nuts about tunes, putting effort into promoting stuff. It doesnt make sense, why bother?
