Most You've Ever Spent On A Record/CD/Tape/Etc.
What's the most you've ever spent on a record, etc.?
Mine's not that bad, think it was probably about £25 for one of the early Burial EP's. Probably spent more on Skywave - Synthstatic, had to go round begging people on Discogs to sell it, eventually got one for about £35.
Some of you bods have gotta have some more pricey pieces though, surely?

£50 for Louise - Naked (Tony de Vit remix). Never officially released, record label promo only. This was back in early 2000s when rips of this sort of thing were pretty much unheard of. The breakdown @ 5m17 still gives me goosebumps.

Like, £15?
How much were CDs in the 90's?

£35 with postage for Mary Anne Hobs- Warrior Dubz or £23 for Goth Trad- Back to the chill.

£107 on DMZ002. Sold Burial vs Massive Attack for £100 so net loss of 7 quid.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

Not counting how much you paid for Burial vs Massive Attack in the first place.Riddles wrote:£107 on DMZ002. Sold Burial vs Massive Attack for £100 so net loss of 7 quid.

£50 for Root/Goat Stare NO EGRETS but it was still kind of overpriced (this was in 2012).
Re: Most You've Ever Spent On A Record/CD/Tape/Etc.
Paid £50, I think, for a mint copy of ASBO. I really don't like the idea of paying well over the original price for something thats been heavily used, its why I've put off buying many of the early DMZs.
Re: Most You've Ever Spent On A Record/CD/Tape/Etc.
just bought a dmz001 for 65 pounds, was getting frustrated waiting cause i only need 3 more to round off my DMZ collection and i havent seen one go cheaper in what feels like years.
id probably be willing to go up to 85 or something for an 002 (i remember missing out on one for like 30 on discogs by a few minutes...)
but im still sitting on my burial / massive attack that last sold for 550 usd on discogs so i can always sell that and not have to feel bad about paying dumb prices for some other records

$500 for that Burial record. fuuuuck mental money.
Re: Most You've Ever Spent On A Record/CD/Tape/Etc.
About £13 maybe
*edit: I don't like paying stupid prices for records, but I'd definetly consider paying £40-£50 for neverland/stuck, though £35 would be better

Spent £30 on Bicep's Stripper and Blawan's Getting Me Down. Most I've spent recently was £15 for Levon Vincent's Love Technique in Mint condition
Most I've spent on a CD was probably $40 (inc shipping) for the Metal Boxset of Operation Doomsday

I usually don't pay a lot for records, cos I know I end up not playing them enough.
Doing more mixing with vinyl these days though.
Most is probably €23,- for the BoC album
Which is still unplayed.
