Reading this: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1 ... nises_ama/

Some question and answer session with a guy who has two serpents (there are pictures).

I'm cracking up at my desk at some of the lines, struggling to keep it together:
"Does your dick go to the right or the left?"

"Yes"
Have you ever peed and had both do the forked stream? That's a catastrophe with just one penis, I can't imagine how annoying it must be with four streams.

Yeah it's happened and is twice as devastating.

I think it was
What should have happened is
[+] Spoiler
Really she should have died drowning in the landing in the water bit at the end. It would have pissed so many people off but it also would have been cool. I mean she goes through all this crazy shit where she is only just lucky enough to make it through it all and makes it back to earth simply to die because her luck went the other way one time. It would make all the cheesy over the top emotional stuff about her character have a point then. That after making the human element so prominent they then simply demonstrate how easily it all be wiped out and the futility of life. It would make the hollywood shit feel ironic instead of shmaltzy

Yeah, agreed. Although,
[+] Spoiler
At least they killed George Clooney's character off, was such a shit shit character and his stories were doing my head in. I enjoyed the film for how good it looked really and their backstory was fairly irrelevant to me cos it seems like they just fired it in at the last minute. When Sandra Bullock's character started hitting out about her daughter it was completely out the blue and it seemed to out of place talking about how how her daughter died.

Agree to a point:
[+] Spoiler
I would've preferred her to die trying to reach the chinese (?) space station, would've been such a come down and more "realistic" in the situation. Fairs to the film though, Sandra Bullock really took a step into the top tier of milves, and the film is just about as terrifying a situation as I could imagine to be in.

Anyone read the comic/graphic novel Ascent? Maybe I'm being too influenced by that.

Yeah that's what I'd initially thought of but then thought that although less realistic her making it to earth and dying would have been more of a kick in the teeth. Either way her dying would have made the shmaltz seem more artistically valid. As it was the film was great as an experience regarding the portrayal of space and the tension of a survival situation there. It did succeed in making you think about how scary space can be. It was also technically very impressive. It simply just went too Hollywood with the back story and cheese in the ending.

I think the ending you proposed Wolf would of been more cheesy than the original ending.

Yeah but it would have been a cheesy that pissed everyone off masively rather than a predictable one.

Was speaking to a mate today about Gravity and we both agreed that it was good but the hype for it is totally overblown.
