Not the first actually.
Project Ex did some contests with Binaural packs as prizes a while back but ppl cheated for the prizes.
Good idea though.

Surly someone would sponsor a competition. If not one of the big dogs then a smaller company that needs the attention.

I was really asking.... I know nothing about internet traffic. TBH I just want a chance to win a prize.

I have one more idea. Maybe we would give a gold star under a user that wins avatar or something. Everyone likes to feel special.

Sounds like a lot to me. The ratio of posters to visitors must be like 1:62

yeah, 130forum.com

Naw, I don't know. I think facebook has drawn some of the heat away. I think ds as a genre has deflated considerably, so I guess the forum should go too.

I miss forum in the Myspace days. There where a bunch of Labels, DJs, Internet Radio stations and smaller artist around. You would even get some of the bigger people pop up from time to time.

We should find a way to breath life back into this place.

I don't know man, it has been years now. As you point out, there are visitors, so revenue probably has never been better, and as we are reminded all the time, this is simply a private money making property.

I just want to know, who are those in the darkness, shuffling around, staring? Are they 14 year olds who just heard a skrillex song (I know I just dated myself) for the first time? Are they real people? Are they revenue generating fraud bots?

People will go where things are happening. I dont know everyone but I feel that if we could create more of a scene people would come. Even if we had a forum station that played tracks from some of the promising new member a lot more people would stay and continue to contribute.

I think that is a good idea, I don't know if there is enough people generating decent content here? I mean I hear fire tracks all the time in the back rooms of this place, but I don't know. The snh had a stream, but seems like no one wants to dj that shit, it always falls through. Same old same old no passion bullshit.

I'm doing that TUNA! thread, trying to rub the sticks together, getting that thing to ignite. It is fun, and it is happening, but it could be more fun, more happening. You're welcome to come down there and make something happen. :)

I'm hopefully going to start streaming once I've got the new gear installed at home...but yeah, there pockets of awesome on here are getting somewhat rarer, it seems. The beat maker thread is awesome, as is Thinking Out Loud (though I wish more people would contribute decent content to that as well)

I would love to say I would do this and that.. but I know life would get in the way and I would stop after a week or two.

I could do regular DJ set with no hassle but I'm not really a DJ. I have decks but they are just for fun. I cheat and only mix 140 tracks.
