yh but players like ferdinand scholes giggs van der sar rooney keane van nisterooy et loads al. have always been a mainstay of the team
This is probably where my oppinion differs, because out of that lot, I would only qualify Nistelrooy and Van der Sar as absolute worldclass players. Scholes at a stretch maybe. The rest are ponds that become worthwhile under Fergusons mancscaping. That is a bit harsh, but still..
In my book Kagawa was worldclass in Dortmund, completely unplayable.. but is he really supposed to run  :u: faster than a winger like Valencia or would United have to change formation to get anything out of him? :D
To me it seems as if they signed and enrolled a few too many quality wingers. Like why have Young, Janusaj, Zaha, Nani and Valencia on a team if you want both Rooney and Van Persi to get the most product out of their respective styles and drift around. It seems as if they've held on to a few players and given them deals that where too good when considering what they needed. And on top of that sent away players on absolutely needed positions -like Pogba (ouch) or even just Ravel Morrison. Then again it's nice that a club of this size feels a responsibility for certain players but with mainly Rooney and Nani it's to the detriment of the club.

all clubs have some average players but this year (and last tbh) united definitely have a deficit of world class players

more so than other years

united have always had a top quality spine of the team (gk cb cm st) which is something else they don't have this year and that's also important i reckon
It's a funny thing, what you would call stability, because under someone like Ferguson it doesn't seem as much of a problem to let for example Rooney sit one out (*), whereas if Moyes did the same it would cause a lot of problems. Same goes for Evans when Vidic was out a couple of years ago, wouldn't be a problem.
But Vidic hasn't returned mentally from that and no even Smalling is ahead. That is classic united though play the guy that didn't fall through and doesn't think to much of himself.
That whole pressure thing is obviously part of what is lacking now and that makes some players go from world class to just ok - like Van Persi, Nani or Valencia.
Imo. That being said I think DeGea is one of the most promising young gk I've seen and he could become quite a unique player. I don't understand what has happened to Phil Jones or Vidic though, maybe they have become boyfriend and manfriend.

(*:sounds 'wrong' )

in conclusion what made united so good before was just the way Ferguson would threaten and shout in these lads faces. The only difference :6:
I could've just written that tbf

yh but from the point of view of the line referee it looked like the newcstl. player was in front of hart point of view. I rate that the referee had couragee instead of running back to de mid field that was the easy way imo

Well, Arsenal have a habit of making tough work against struggling teams that everyone else strolls over, so there's hope

I know, but it's a small hope to cling to.

Hopefully Arsenal lose tonight, or a draw at best so we can stay in second position. Can't wait for us to beat United this weekend.
