Consistent CPU spike
So we all know that when you run multiple instances of your favorite plugins you're prone to some CPU tomfoolery, and I've always perceived this to be kind of a random thing. For example you're CPU will randomly spike to high percentages when it's running the most plugins, or the most CPU hoggin' plugins. But I started working on a tune today that does not have that many tracks at all, and while I am using quite a few plugins, I have made tunes that use more; It's strange because the CPU spikes in one specific part of the song only for an instance, and nowhere else. Why is this?
Re: Consistent CPU spike
Are you automating parameters of anything? Its possible that the automation in that one part of the song causes a temporary choke?

Re: Consistent CPU spike
yeah, I think it's because I had a feedback loop going pretty heavy with a limiter after it so as the feedback grew it just got dirtier and dirtier. But i'm using ableton, so once i figured out where it was coming from i just froze the track. And once i'm done procrastinating on here i'll be well on my way to working on the tune again.
