A Problem In Ableton Live 9

Post by Unitystep » Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:46 pm

So, I'm having a problem mapping something. I shall explain exactly what I am trying to do.

I grouped a Massive patch with an Instrument Rack, and I chained a different Massive patch to it. It looks like this:

I clicked on the first thing on the list, titled "Main Bass." Then, I put an Amp effect on it. So now my current interface looks like this:

So now what I am trying to do is, I am trying to map the Dry/Wet of the Amp to the first macro knob on the Instrument Rack.

Image

When I press the map button on the Instrument Rack, some of the things I can map illuminate in a color. As you know, to map something using an Instrument Rack you just have to click on it, and then go over to the Instrument Rack, and then press "Map."

Sadly, when I click the Dry/Wet knob, the "Map" button gets grayed in, indicating that I can't map it. I tried making this as simple as possible to understand, so it should be easy to answer unless this is a malfunction in my software. If you have an answer, please put it down there even if you aren't sure if it will work or not, that's better than nothing, right?

That is because your amp plugin is not in the "main bass" channel, it is affecting both "main bass" and "subbass". You need to click and drag it so that it is right next to the massive plugin. As you can see in your picture, there is some gray space between them. If that doesn't clear things up, I can go into more detail.

Thanks so much! Haha, I've only used the Instrument Rack a couple of times so I wouldn't know very much of what to do when I have problems with it. I'll remember this in the future.
