Given that the thought problem is based around a fire, it makes perfect sense to save the hottest people first.

I'm kind of with Lazslo on this actually.

And if the societal standard was to prioritise the well being of forty-something year olds you'd have a point.

I'm not ready to give up on free will yet
as I am still willing myself to do what is happening.

As for ideas that need retirement...how about THE WORLD IS PROGRESSING?
Surely adaption to & accommodation of changing circumstances doesn't equate to amelioration.
Nor does simply transiting between past & future constitute progress.

Take, for instance, the latest research showing 84 individuals now control half Earth's fiscal wealth.
If that lead to the improved health & well-being of us masses, the concept of PROGRESS might have creedence.

the idea that i want to retire is the idea that stupid fucking ignorant hippies have any idea what they are talking about when it comes to certain things like fracking/GMO crops/nuclear power etc...

Massive gains in productivity over the past 30 years. Where has that largess gone? Work day and week have gotten longer, more two working parent households, massive inflation.

this x 100000.

I don't give a fuck about your hippie opinion if you think GM crops are bad, nuclear power is so dangerous, and vaccines cause illnesses. Go fuck off and live on an island where i never have to see you, you can grow your own food from your own excrement fertilizer, peddle a bike for power to post stupid fucking pictures on instagram and die of dysentery because you don't understand clean water because you're afraid of chlorine.

Yep, agreed. GM is going to save us all eventually... I really don't get why experimenting with genetics is such a scaregasm compared to the millennia of crossbreeding that produced our current food chain. People fucking love being scared.
