Having them talk inside their heads at each other is the best idea in comedy, since Ricky Gervais made that mock documentary style that everybody has taken on.
It was done quite a bit before The Office, Operation Good Guys was out a few years earlier that adopted that style, it's been done to death now though.
Trailer Park Boys was before The Office too and I think Reno 911 was probably around the same time too?

There was a couple of shows like it. Also an australian one that I can't recall. But the whole interviewy/pov aspect of it was done very convincingly in the uk office. I think a lot of people actually thought it was a documentary, right?.

My point was, how its weird that noone else copied the peepshow approach because it such a smart move, being able to hear their thoughts. That could've been as influential as what we are talking about here, I think.

I don't think they did really, at the time the BBC were hyping the fuck out of it as being the next big comedy sensation and Gervais had made his name on the 11 o'clock show a few years previous.

They actually did. The day after the first episode, I went into work and people were genuinely debating it. By the second or third episode most people seemed to have cottoned on. Surprisingly few people remembered him from the 11 O Clock show at that point, which seemed slightly odd to someone with Daisy Donovan forever imprinted on his libido.

It's actually come full circle in that now you have 'The Call Centre' a real documentary in which a real boss takes on a Brent like persona, well it's edited that way..

I think the US series has ruined the legacy a bit tbh... an awful lot of David Brents really are out there running a thousand offices around the country, but Michael Scott definitely doesn't exist anywhere but your television set.

I think every character was an exaggeration of a certain personality.
Like you can recognize these characteristics and it's relatable in a way, but it's taken
to a surreal level so the situations alone get people to laugh.

The way the characters reacted to these situation is what makes it funny to me.

Preferred Edward the Confessor tbh... Sundays were too confusing under Henry and Greensleeves got played out like a motherfucker once everyone heard it at the Field of the Cloth of Gold.

Just finished Entourage.
[+] Spoiler
Retarded. Retarded. Retarded.
E somehow getting back with Sloan. Retarded.
Ari getting back with his wife. Retarded.
Vince stalking a girl for ages then marrying her after one date. So fucking retarded.
Really thought this was gonna be a good season from the beginning, but as usual they decided to end it with everything somehow magically turning out OK and Vince being the greatest person on earth.
I reckon the movie's gonna be retarded too.

[+] Spoiler
What was the kid's play all about ? Obviously the dolls look like Rust, Marty and the new task force. Is it a murder or a rape scene ?

What do the birds doing the circular sign in the sky mean ? Rust clearly says he wasn't hallucinating at the time, could he be wrong on that one ? and what does the owl in the church mean ?

Also the way Rust and Marty fall out will be wayyyy dirtier than just Rust fucking Maggie, imo there must be something about his dead daughter in there

Really liked the first two episodes... The two caracters are really good (obviously Rust's caracter is way more deeply developed in these first episodes). The way they filmed Louisiana is so freaky!
[+] Spoiler
Don't know about the dolls.
The circular sign done by the birds is the same sign tatooed on the back of the victim (Dori). Clearly it was a hallucination.

Told ya :Q:

Ari's wife's ass in the final scene was the highlight of the season. Even the subplot with

Turtle 'suddenly' becoming a millionaire
seemed forced.
