I quote myself: Not really needing this, because I'm going to use the sequencer from the 707 and just sync it with octa's tempo... But still cool to know!
The question was just out of curiosity.

Hate the design, any info on the step sequencer like pads at the bottom?
Could be fun if it works like a real sequencer (but I doubt that)

  • 16 Ultra-Responsive Pads – velocity sensitive, illuminated pads with RGB feedback
  • Onboard Step Sequencer – accompanied by 16 backlit keys, and high-res screen
  • Extensive Expression Controls – 48 assignable controls are offered between 4 faders, 4 knobs, and 4 buttons with 4 banks each, and includes pitch bend, modulation and more
  • Arsenal Software – allows for instant DAW/VST integration with full tactile control parameters; or operates as a standalone program with powerful presets & VI's
  • AIR Drums and Hybrid 3 – includes two dynamic VST instrument programs, a drum sample player/editor compatible with REX files and a high definition analog synth suite
  • Built-in Instruments – 8 GB of sounds, one-shots, loops, and exclusive content

EDIT - And it's got MIDI DIN out :corndance: :corndance: :corndance:

So it would appear, in terms of the standalone stuff. Does MIDI out also mean it could act as controller for a live hardware setup...not sure if Maschine has that functionality?

Oh yeah it does. Best midi controller I've ever worked with. It's controller software is aces. I controlled things in ableton better than I could with the apc40. Aces.

Yeah, the controller aspect of it was a surprise to me. I was setting up live performance stuff in ableton, couldn't get the padkontrol or the apc to do what I needed, and so I launched the maschine controller software. It was really well thought out, and REALLY flexible, allowing me to do what I needed to do. It honestly was a surprise.

Aces

Aces

Did that destroy the power of aces?

Machinedrum is such a weird guy.
And that step sequencer thingy is not bad, could be fun for some live implementation.

Still want to try an ableton push for a month or so, guess i'm gonna like it!

I know it's far above our price range, but that moog company is so fucking genius. They did it again, what a beast.
