nah, credit where credit is due. haven't bought these plates either, but technically these tunes are top notch. I don't think guys like LX should be held accountable for "lack of innovation". it's up to the new producers to define their own sound. not everyone can be a Four Tet or Kode9 and constantly be reinveinting oneself. and in the end, it's up to us to decide which plates we buy and thus which producers we are supporting. if there's no audience for something new, it won't make the cut, won't get played out and will ultimately die a quiet death.
out to the DJs constantly looking for new ears to please.

lets face it, last year was not an innovative year for dubstep. move along from the dungeon, and "deep".

Re: What ever happened to the innovation?
I don't think there is any lack of innovation. The ratio of great tunes to average tunes hasn't changed that much IMO. I think there are less releases as w whole. Since dubstep isn't the new exciting thing anymore, I think many fans are just turning on it out of boredom. There were always tunes that sounded similar even in 2006.
A lot of these complaints regarding the sound seems directed towards Youngsta/Tempa specifically. I think Tempa is as healthy as it's ever been in terms of quality of tunes. Some producers, like LX-One, Biome and a few others just have a very distinctive sound, so much so that at times it may seem like they're repeating themselves. But that apparent sameness existed in their music from almost these producers' outset. It's no different from producers of any other genre. Some producers experiment more. Others have a specific palate.
I think Many of the nosier tear-out producers have moved onto trap, glitch or its derivatives/progenitors. A lot of other producers, even the legends in the scene like Scuba, Vex'd, Skream, and half of Kryptic Minds have left the scene and/or are doing other things. All in all, the scene seems to have contracted.
Basically, Dubstep isn't less innovative, there's a greater diversity of sounds and vibes than ever before. It's just going into a quieter period in terms of volume of music.
