Yung Lean is absolutely awful.

Are people listening to him ironically or something? because that's even worse

Young swedish rapper with a very high quality of beats

On that tip that Kreyshawn, Lil B, Riff Raff etc are on in that he's not good at rapping in any traditional sense. Unlike Krey but like Riff a lot of his tunes bang pretty hard regardless tho.

Can't deny it's sort of hipster/internet meme music.

Yeah wolf in this case you're sort of right with your h808. It's that modern "is it ironic?" rap thing.

But it's also good.

The way I see it, all this stuff like Lil B and Riff Raff is sort of an extreme version of all the silliness that has always come packaged with club-focused southern hip hop. Ridiculous catchphrases that don't make sense and bizarre hooks that explore just how dumb a tune can be while still actually sounding cool. Like calling your crew SADBOYS or having phrases like "SALISBURY STEAK SWEATER" take up half your hook.

Daughter is reading The Story of My Life by Helen Keller, and she is like that is racist, I'm like what, she's like Helen refers to these people as negroes. So we start having this conversation about what black people are called, historically, words that are derived from them, the whole politicized language etc. She is like that is like calling them ******. I'm like ****** is derived from that, but that is just the name that people used, like we might use the word black, nowadays rather than negro, but negro in of itself isn't racist. And she is like never call a black person a ******, I'm like yeah, but then I'm like times are changing, maybe we're getting past that era, thinking of Tyler the Creator etc, then she is like but black people call each other ******, and she is like, "Like that second song on Wu Tang's 36 chambers, Shame on a ******."

I LOVE THIS GIRL. :U:
