Existentialist magpies

Post by wub » Wed Feb 05, 2014 9:52 am

There is a futility of building up any kind of collection at all. Nothing we do can change the fact that we're inevitably going to die.
Life has no deep, hidden meaning and hence even things that we personally feel are meaningful will not change the outcome of life in the end.
How many records do you own?

I collect records to enjoy, to sit down have a rummage and say " Oh I forgot I had that" and give it a listen.
Collecting for the sake of collecting seems a bit odd to me, but like you said, " we're inevitably going to die" so whatever people do to make themselves happy before they pop their clogs is all good with me so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

I used to think No Fear posters were deep too, wub.

Holy fuck I can remember all those titheads with their "tuned" just-slap-some-no-fear-stickers-on cars.

It's common knowledge around my way that a No Fear sticker adds at least 10bhp to a Nova SRi... it's almost as effective as drilling a few holes in the exhaust.

the nothingness of death is the awareness of the ego as a seperate entity from being. you can not stop being what that you are a part of. no matter how much cool music it spawns.
