Was in the mood for some mindless action/sci-fi, gave Ender's Game a try (I knew what to expect, still reading the book as a kid was a good experience so it was a matter of how much that was going to get raped as well).
Psychological aspects of the novel obviously get completely lost in the movie. The movie itself is disrupted by some useless 3D scenes. The whole political aspect of Earth gets left out. Even the fights were largely unspectacular. I did recognise the girl from Signs LOL.

2/10.

Even if James McAvoy is great, the book is still a lot better.

What are some good documentaries on weird shit. I'm looking for some LHF-style samples about totally different alternative states of mind, man, conspiracies, secret government projects, that kind of thing.

Good but over hyped imo. The way people were talking about it I though I would be blown away. Seeing it was a bit of a let down.

Alien

All the more enjoyable for having two cats running round the house whilst you're watching it

Big Trouble In Little China

Working through a Carpenter season with the GF, this seemed like the obvious place to start.

It was Tim Robbins on Boggs' point IIRC.
