Yeah it's always good to do a final mix like that before you export.

Sinestepper If you mix everything really low you will never run out of headroom. Its nice to be able to mixdown the shape you have in mind without headroom ever being a concern.

Usually, the second I start not liking the beat I'm making, I change the key of all the instruments and fuck with the tempo to change it up and maybe give it a new feel. That or I delete all the parts I don't like and put new parts in.

My beats usually go through about 6 complete changes within the first few hours of me making it.
