Used to, found it helpful. I don't know why I fell out of it. I always fall out of good/healthy things.

But my mind was a bit of a wreck then.

I think I need to get back on it. Because when I'm going to sleep, I'm getting like two, three images per second of absolutely wild shit. I'm a former painter, former graphic designer, I pay extra attention to images, and the things I am seeing are absolutely unlike any other things I've ever seen. I think I need to allow time to be conscious of what I'm receiving.

What type of mediation are you thinking of.

I tried once…every time I google the specifics to a paranoid/generally negative/anxious/obsessive thought pattern I'm having the solution is always "meditate".

I tried once and didn't have the patience though.

of course i meditate on bassweight tho

Meditation and yoga (which is a form of meditation) are imo extremely important. I've gone the other way, like total internet saturation, constant music, noise, edumicational videos, just constant input or output. I personally really need to find a way to get back some quiet in my life. Like I really can't stand it at all now. Even going asleep, I've found it easier with constant stimulation that I can just drift away from, rather than silence.

I don't know how I got here.

But I need to get back to some peace.

I think it is just like jumping off of tall things. Start jumping off of really low things. And slowly work up. Jump off the curb, jump off your chair, jump off your desk, jump off your house. :)

Start with 5 minutes, when you can remain mindful, 10 minutes...

Can listening to music be classified as meditation? Have you got to spiritual for meditation to work? Never tried it. Meditation has always looked like something hippies would do.

Yeah I meditate. Helps me find my inner peace. It has also improved my posture.

same
did zazen but wrecked it by tripping on the Sun
TM but forgot the individualized mantra
vipassana which is probably the best technique
and the meditation associated with hatha yoga

became too busy to sit & my mind reckoned I didn't need it an more
As usual, my mind is full of shit
and I should resume sitting to watch it evanesce.
I will.

Me too. But not for peace. I've got so much flying into my mind. It is totally novel. It is like more stimulating than the world wide web onslaught of imagery and ideas. I'm wondering if it is happening constantly, and I'm too distracted by my environment, or if in only quiet it comes.

Well-timed thread, just tried this for the first time a couple nights ago and failed, Miserably :cornlol:

Not sure if what i did even qualifies as legitimate meditation but what i did was completely strip naked (fuck knows why), sit crosslegged/straightback and focus on just the room tone and nothing else. Lasted for about two minutes

I try something when I'm trying to get to sleep, not sure what it's called but it kind of helps, I just concentrate on my breathing and count breaths, if I catch my mind wandering, I start again never getting past 15.

ive tried it like 3 times, just randomly never to seriously but last night i had a few moments of nothingness which was sweet, then i realised there was nothing and ruined it.
and no to the spiritual question, im not in any way. I just want something new and calm in my life

i do yoga, but just as physical exercise. usually feel calm and relaxed afterwards tbh, without any meditation

i have done in the past although a few times i've gone really weird and loads of crazy colours and images rushed through my mind so i stopped, maybe i was ascending to a higher plane or summin.

I find i get into a similar mindset when producing or reading.
