billy nasty playing dubstep in amsterdam

Post by classagraphics » Wed Oct 03, 2007 12:06 pm

yo, there is a gig on the 18th of Oct for the Amsterdam Dance Event (a fucking huge 4 day, 30+ club event) -- anyway, one of the events is a Dubstep night with Billy Nasty (uk) and Derek Luv (nl) ?!?!?!

i never heard or D. Luv from NL and nor have any other cats i talked and no online info, and then B Nasty seems like a big techno cat from the early 90's, so whats he doing dropping some dub?

i'm not working this night, so im gonna check it out to see what its all about, but has anyone else ever heard Billy Nasty play dubstep?

If you're a member of the Fabric site you can hear a Billy Nasty dubstep mix. I quite like it...it's quite a deep one.

Also exclusive N-Type and Caspa mixes on there plus MAH live and Iration Steppas. Can't d/l to share though sadly.
Bye. I've changed my password and left the boards...Too much time on here and not enough work being done.

He may as well try his hand at dubstep - he hasn't played a decent techno set in yrs.

Interesting. Bily Nasty was a fucking Techno Don in the 90's, second only to Andrew Weatherall (imho). I saw him playing a downtemp/balearic set in camden a few months back and if he plays minimal dubstep I could see him playing it well. Gonna try and track him down and find out more...

Most of the drum n bass scene has "bandwagon jumped" onto dubstep so why shouldnt a techno dj...seems fair enough to me.

Also, maybe hes well into dubstep and wants to play it.Shocking, I know.

What was his record shop in Camden? I presume it's long gone? Can't remember the name to Google it...

Ya, maybe, aint saying he wouldn't play a decent dubstep set, but IMHO, he hasn't played what I would I consider a decent techno set in a long time.
