imo, we should grant them independence, then immediately invade, take them over, rename them "England North" and make them wish they'd never opened their mouths...

I really doubt Scotland will be leaving since they can't get into the EU for quite some time and it's not like they will create their own currency.

Plus, there's the added benefit that if we added a few hundred miles of length, Brummies would suddenly be healthy Southerners and all those 'proud' stnuc from Yorkshire would have to give up being called Northern.
