Im with Finji, Arthur Ericksons stuff is brilliant.
The way natural lighting is used puts most other ideas to shame.

But for the time being - the problem is these houses are just for the wealthy. It is oogling over a luxury item like a watch or a car.

If you go to Tokyo, the Sky Tree looks like some ridiculous Wizard of Oz or Sauron tower against the skyline.

that just gave me an idea though. Imagine a sushi joint that instead of using a conveyor belt to bring portions around has the the seating rotate around a fixed service area.

That'd be nuts. I went to one in Shibua that shot a little train-like plate on wire down the row to you. The quality was better than the usual type because there's far less waste or atmospheric exposure. That was in Shibuya, I like the normal places best though (i.e. where you sit at a counter and order to the chef in front of you) . I actually prefer sashimi to sushi...
