Raver Parents

Post by joe muggs » Fri Mar 07, 2014 9:37 pm

Any out there?

Do your kids appreciate your music?

My Mrs has only gone and got involved with organising a rave for families... I have to say that DJing with my 18 month old daughter on my shoulders pumping her fist in the air to old breakbeat rave tunes definitely counts as a life high point. Anyway excuse the spam, but any of you in London with kids should check it. Hatcha's playing Sat 15th; Moody Boyz a month after; loads of others lined up...

Out of interest, hows this going to work with kids ears? ear protectors all round or system on low.

Having my daughter in the studio is f'ing amazing. I'd be seriously concerned about hearing damage in a club though. My kid's ears are so sensitive, she talks about hearing the wind on vulture's wings and whatnot.

But I can see when a beat gets in her. Totally physical, and just works through her body. Would love to be able to go to a club with her. Have gone to like a Wiggles or some such stupid ass show with her. At a very early age she was like this blows, dude. Would be nice to show her real music, with big sound.

Cheers to you and your lady. :Q:

X-female child?

No, we live in close proximity to these things. It is beyond me, though. But I'm already at that point that I turn sideways when listening.

We organized an electronic music festival for our city once, and I will say that candi kids as parents was the most awkward thing ever.

A lot of young people have the idea when they grow up, they're going to lose interest in the things they like. Like they'll stop liking video games, stop liking music. Like what do you think is going to happen dude? You're just going to crust over and die on the couch at age 26?

Old people only like that shit cause by that point, they already know everything.

And Hardcat, your genre tastes may shift, you may gain perspective on music, its role in your life, in society, but the love of music, if you really have it, can't go anywhere.
