thanks guys, everyone of my friends and the club owners gave me a lot of support i told me that this things happens, cant avoid being dissapointed though.
He played some really special tunes, only a part of his set was more tear out, dmz vs mzn, haunted harmonics, the plot, monster dub, new LAS, new Mala... I have really enjoyed spending all this week with joe i only have kind words and respect for him

Would someone be able to explain a few things about rekordbox to me? I didn't think this was worth making a thread. I'm making the switch to CDJs and I wanna make cues for all my tracks. First thing - is it possible to have more than 3 cues?

Second thing - when I put cues in traktor, I like to put the last cue 32 bars before the outro. You know how when you hover your mouse over the wave, it shows how many bars you are from the point where the song is playing? ie, if the song is paused at 0:00 and you hover your mouse over the drop, it'll say +32 bars or +16 bars or something like that? Is there any way to see that kinda thing in rekordbox? Like an overall map of the bars of a song?

I want to see this so that I can place a cue 32 bars before the end of each song, or 32 bars before the end of a verse, cause that lets me know the approximate point when I should start the next song.

are you going to use the CDJs with rekordbox running on PC, or just prep tracks and play with USBs?
as far as i know the +bars thing isn't possible. If i need to know, i just look at the waveform tbh, you can usually see where you are in the track pretty well.
I wouldn't bother setting cue points on every tune like that tbh, 1 - it seems pretty fucking long, 2- you should know your tracks, know where to mix in the next tune etc etc etc.

In rekordbox you can save around 8-10 cue points per tune , just set a cue and then hit the memory button, repeat etc.


What CDJs u got btw?

Ideally I would use the CDJs with traktor software cause that's the easiest way for me to do the best possible mix I can, but that's not always convenient so I'm gonna have a USB as well. That'll probably change with time as I get more comfortable with the CDJs. I'm part of a group of people (many of whom are my good friends) who do a lot of production/dj-related things. We collectively own lots of equipment - a few controllers, a couple mixers, a mini moog, and 2 CDJ 2000nxs.

CDJ-2000nxs is so damn confusing, too much shit going on layoutwise. It can do a whole lot of cool stuff but I rarely take advantage of that shit anyway. Maybe I should download and read the manual from start to end some time.

Gotta say tho that with rekordbox and all that stuff, being a digital DJ is really hassle free these days. Only need to carry around USB sticks (just one if you're using that wifi thing on nxs) and headphones

I'm messing around with a triangle wave, but it doesn't quite sound right. I'm not getting that smooth bounce of it.

I can't make out what sound you're on about, but the bass sound there is a slightly detuned square wave with an envelope that has been fiddled with a bit on the attack part.
