HiveMind - subConscious

Post by hiv3Mind » Thu Mar 13, 2014 9:06 pm

at first i was very happy with the track, but right now im not sure about the kinda repetitive bassline drawing through the track. thinking about making a more subtle, more unpredictable bass...
what do u guys think?

This is pretty cool! The one thing I would say is that I felt the kicks were lacking punch and got completely lost under your bass.

Thx m8, definately needs some sidechaining, I agree.
But I have the feeling the bass is overpowered in total, not only for the kick...
(I do mixing with mediocre headphones, since I have no proper sound system atm)
less bass volume?

I can't tell you for sure because I also only have my headphones to listen to.

I wasn't thinking about sidechaining, I think you could layer your kick or give it a boost with a bit of EQ to get it punchier

Ye you may be right with the kick...on the other hand I dont want too much punch and a rather smooth kick. Gonna do some work on it anyway.
Biggest issue for me is the volume of the sub range; I put it down, do some listen and..damn to soft.
Put it up again, take a listen...damn too heavy :6: :u:
