Good mic for small room vocal recording

trying to look for a decent mic for vocals (mostly rappering).

anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

For that money I'd consider getting the Apogee MIC. It's usb, but that does mean you get Apogee
converters as well. It's quite small in size, but sounds like a large diaphragm condenser.
I had it for a few weeks and was very pleased with the sound.

In studio recordings I have never used cheaper mics on vocals, so I don't know about that.
Rode NT2 seems to be very popular, but I haven't used it on vocals.

^ Yeah MIC is a good call. I would recommend the Audio-Technica AT2020 too.

audio-tecnica sounds good to me. cheapper than the others too. only need it for a session or two

i thought about renting but its still expensive.

plus it would be nice to have a 2nd mic around the house.
