Snare reverb tail
How do I get the tail of a reverb on a snare to cut off just as the next kick hits? Is it just a case of playing with the settings in the reverb itself, or would I need to apply a gate or whatever?
Cheers

Re: Snare reverb tail
I would just turn the dry/wet knob down as the kick hits? Or if you want the tail to continue after the kick the use sidechaining

Shorten the reverb tail
or
Have the kick triggering a sidechain that 'ducks' the specific EQ range on the snare when the kick hits (if you want to preserve some of the snare's frequencies but make room for the kick) or else trigger the fader to drop the snare altogether (if you just want the kick to hit in dry space)

Re: Snare reverb tail
Bounce a sample of the verb and cut it off when the kick hits?

Re: Snare reverb tail
Some reverb units have a built in gate. just set the gate so that the sound cuts out as the kick hits. Just a question of listening and adjusting the envelope. however blink has the easiest solution.

Render your snare with reverb, and then replace your snare with that rendered snare. Then if you use FL, go to your kick and set the CUT number to something, and set the same CUT BY number on your snare.
