meh not quite the same imo.

there's lots of water between us and alaska. alaska only borders canada on one side. there's only one country between continental us and alaska. kaliningrad borders 2 countries and you'd have to drive through at least 2-3 countries to get there from russia.

not to mention north america's history of border disputes is nothing compared to europe's. like when you've got a bunch of little countries in there i don't see why one of them is part of russia....

i mean im sure there are reasons, i just dont know
