Re: Depressed DJs
I watched the RBMA vid a year or two ago and didn't find anytthing particularly wrong with it tbh.
Do you lot think you'll be making dubstep, or whatever music you're making/involved with right now, your whole life?
Personally I've gotten bored of styles of music before and moved on tbf, without change you can't grow imo.

Re: Depressed DJs
It's not the issue of leaving the genre but the way of doing it. The way I see it Headhunter also left the scene when he started producing as AG and yet he doesn't say shit things like Scuba. Or Jamie Ved'x. Or probably plenty of other people.
They just moved on

Re: Depressed DJs
I don't get it though, it's hypocritical at least for a bunch of dudes who sit on an internet subforum which at one point spent a solid 90% of its time hating on what was then the 'dubstep sound' to be calling him out for doing the same with his lips.

I still buy dubstep plates and play them out on a regular basis, am I allowed to hate on scuba?jesslem wrote:I don't get it though, it's hypocritical at least for a bunch of dudes who sit on an internet subforum which at one point spent a solid 90% of its time hating on what was then the 'dubstep sound' to be calling him out for doing the same with his lips.

basically, whatever Gareth said b2b he's a disrespectful douche who doesn't appreciate the people who come out to see him play or buy his plates. also, I've heard he's a bit of a dick to the promoters who book him. he hates everyone who helps him make a living off his music.
imho he's worse than Zomby.

i think thats exactly why scuba, zomby, etc like to act the way they do, even though theyre pricks they knew that first of all its publicity and secondly theres a lil bit of a cult of personality type of thing that can go with antagonistic behaviorjesslem wrote:Minor imo. Re: Depressed DJs
yeah big ups scuba for being a marketing genious.
"when your music goes to waste make sure everyone thinks you're a tnuc at least."
I can definitively see that working.
