I genuinely think Four Tet is making tame safe bland music and it just happens to be that the only way for him to seem at all exciting any more is for you to be someone living a boring life where you don't hear much new music apart from checking out what the guardian said was good while having breakfast. Everything is bland samples or sonically plain synth parts. When referring to his drums being the same I meant specifically his attempts at club based tunes he's done lately. They all have that slightly shuffley rhythm and boring quality to the sounds themselves. Look at Kool FM, the new track that wasn't the one just posted, the african sample based one I don't remember the name of. They're all just the same shitty approach rehashed.

and then by far the worst example of what's wrong with his music. That fucking Ellie Golding remix.

You guys are again missing out loads of what I've said and focusing on just one line as you're so desperate to make me seem like some sort of hypocrite just cause I don't like your bbc advert music taste in music. I explained why he music is boring so often, explained why playing skeng and other stuff in his dj sets doesn't impress me at all and then went on to use a jokey description of who would listen to his music. I didn't just do that. It's not like when you guys are fucking lame and just write "five panel", "bro" "tumblr" and leave your arguments at that.

His record store day set on Saturday was amazing.

Wolf also missed out on the fact that garetom likes four tet and that as a, podcaster, label manager and music journalist, hears about loads of new music and doesn't need to know what the guardian's suggestions are, which directly invalidates his opinion in the second paragraph.

wolf has a very narrow view of what music is (and what dance music is) and has unfortunately let his views on music be coloured by what he thinks other people might like.
if he could let go of the preconceptions he holds then he may become truly msuically free.

as it stands as he has attempted to put himself above all others but actaully landded himself into a place where he can only lusten to 'true noise music' due to being scared.
he went so far down the hole that there is only one small niche left

somewhat conversely on a number of occassions wolf has defended #5panel and #tumblr music as legit fun to get drunk / high and dance to. its a bit confusing IMO
