Love it how this is essentially the Arsenal thread for the first 2/3 months of the season, then we crumble and the others come out to gloat quite spectacularly.

Fair play tbh

If only we all supported a traditionally second rate side when it got bought by one of Russia's shadiest oligarchs, eh?

If you started supporting Chelsea after 2002 and you're not from West London you really can swivel on your pointiest trophy.

Thinking of how Mourinho has been throwing his own (mainly strikers) under his fucking shit bus the whole season and blaming them and saying neither torres, eto or demba has the level to win either tournaments, to take the pressure off the rest of the team, and with the Lukaku deal in mind, I'm still thinking Torres could score that single goal and then obviously the shit tnuc will take the credit and the press will lap up his hateful shit again.

imagine the final though if chelsea get through, the way they would set up against an attack of Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema - will ruin what is usually a great occasion

The truth rarely ceases being true. Chelsea have had some truly great players over the last 10 years and Mourinho is an amazing manager, but as a club they're just new money scumbags from a rich scumbag's post code. Fuck Chelsea as a place, population and as a motherfucking football club. And if you're down with Chelsea....

I'm dissapointed in that oppinion because Madrid are obviously as bad if not worse.

Bale or DiMaria doesn't change that

On a more serious tip though, isn't the point of sports allegiance to give us a chance to exercise our tribal tendancies in the safety of non-violent conflict? I've never even hated a real person in real life and I haven't swung a punch in anger more than once in my life, let alone gone to war or rolled with a gang, but I will shout the fucking house down and kick stuff if my beloved Arsenal are wronged. I've broken tellies before. I've been following them since I was 4 years old... 27 years! There's only one example of tribalism more ingrained in me and that's my family.

Nobody should be surprised or offended that an Arsenal fan utterly despises what Chelsea and Manchester City have done over the last 10 years.. it's exactly how we're supposed to feel. I'm pretty sure it's good for us (whatever club you support), too.

Yeah but do you think that if the money clubs had not invested heavily that the Premier League would be the best in the world today. Lets face it the investment in players has made the league what it is.

How can Madrid be compared to Chelsea? They one of the biggest, if not the biggest team in the world:
Because it's more about economic behaviour, media and politics than it is about history. Madrid have been complete stnuc in every sence since the galacticos period imo. They shit on almost everyone of their good players down the line.

Like Salgado, Cassano, Guti, Raul, Nistelrooy, Robben, VdV, Sneijder, Marcello, Casillas, Øzil and so on.

It's more just imperialism and the fact that we speak english as a second language in most of the world and particularly in the west where the dough is. This makes it easier for companies that don't have clue about football but can use it as a market.

But having said that, chelsea was more gradual and planned than say city or psg that do it almost blindly.

Division One was at least as exciting as the Premiership, but the Premiership was the most watched league in the world way before Abramovich got on the scene and decided that even Manchester United were being too 'sensible' with their Sky money... bidding wars for TV rights created 'the best league in the world' and then Russian oil money turned it into a plaything for the rich and vainglorious.

...and all along, Arsenal just carried the fuck on being Arsenal. :U:
