Same goes with sniffing supplements such as whey and creatine instead of putting it in a shake or w/e.

Tbh and I have no firsthand experience with this so I wouldn't know, but recomping is a thing. It's said to take as much time as bulking+cutting combined, but obv. due to its nature, it takes longer to see results. Basically, if dieting right, you can stay at the same weight and slowly burn fat and slowly gain muscle.

But like, if you want results by a certain timeframe, I think bulking+cutting or vica versa is the way to go.

yeah, I learnt this the hard way thinking it was possible to do both. Slow and painful. It took me two years when I could have done it in one if I had cut before bulking. As gene has stressed, diet is key.

Make it fit your macros. Alcohol dehydrates your body, it might be good for fighting off some water retention temporarily.

Being completely dehdhydrated isn't good. But eating at a caloric surpluss, especially carbs, you are prone to retaining additional fluids on your body. If you're cutting down for the summer, draining some of that water (if you will), will you give a more aesthetic appearance with no adverse effects.

When people lose weight, the first thing they lose is waterweight. It's the same process, except in this case set in motion by water rather than caloric deficit.

aaam but i read somewhere that the calories that alcohol has are dead, like if you eat a very fat steak you can convert all those calories in energy but no with alcohol

"Dead calories" aka "empty calories" are merely calories that serve no additional nutritional purpose. Meaning, all they do is get burned or get stored. Which is irrelevant to weightloss or gain.

It only get's stored when you consume more calories than you burn. If you consume less calories than you burn, everything gets burned. That includes alcohol. If you burn 2300 calories per day and you consume 2000 calories worth of calories, including calories from alcohol, nothing gets stored. And you will burn an additional 300 calories worth of tissue (fat or muscle).

Where it gets stored is decided genetically by your body. It may be your arms, your ass, your chest, inside your muscles, your belly, etc.
