Love hangover TV so much. Been getting through shit loads of "The Universe" this year, last year I managed all of Archer and Aqua Team Hunger Force + Always Sunny multiple times.

If the days gunna be a write off may as well spend it watching mindless comedies or science/nature shit.. or random history documentaries.

Watched every single episode of QI this year hungover as well, which is funny cause whenever I'm drunk I end up coming out with half the shit I've heard on there. "Did you know muscle doesn't turn into fat, completely different things biologically.. its all a myth" "if you wanna have more hours in the day, push the moon back".

Tried watching Carl Sagans Cosmos hungover and it melted my brain.

^ nice one, I'll check that out. Doesnt sound like my sorta thing but nor does documentaries on Bach and Galileo and I loved them.

Anyone seen Penny Dreadful? Sorta hard to judge from the first episode, not given enough to decide if I like it or not.. the characters spent the whole episode going "WTF IS GOING ON?" and I spent the whole episode going "Yeah, wtf is going on m8s?"

:lol:

Yeah I've learned not to firsthand expect what is actually interesting. Like reading a book on Mahler who's music I don't really like, was still one of the best reads I've had. Probably some sort of fetischizing on meta, whatever, it's inspirational.
Or something like king of kong, sort of the same.

The Gaugain one (same bbc series) is really funny at times.

Yeah definitely, I often try watch stuff I think I'll hate.. or will think will be boring. I don't approve of Hitler (obviously) but his book is the first thing I brought on my kindle :lol: I'm pretty Keynesian but I've read more on Hayek and Friedman than I have on Keynesian views. Never really had an interest in history but had a phase of watching shit loads of documentaries on Stalingrad and the industrial revolution.

Again, not a fan of art tbh, not interested but I'll give it a go... Gunna watch the vid you posted above in a minute actually.

Had a bit of a Theroux sesh on Netflix last night... the Weird Weekends about Thai Brides really is some of the most uncomfortable viewing ever.

First episode of Fargo is extremely YES once you get over Martin Freeman's Wooden Allen voice anyway...

I just can't get into Mad Men... my lady loves it and I watch the odd one with her, but I just can't find it in myself to care about advertisers... I was clearly brainwashed young by Bill Hicks.

Try reading this;

From Those Wonderful Folks Who Gave You Pearl Harbor: Front Line Dispatches from the Advertising War

The book that was the inspiration for Mad Men. Short and snappy, contains most of the key themes and the guy's delivery is the right kind of dry wit (IMO). Last time I checked HMV had them for like £2.

I think I understand the attraction, it just doesn't seem attractive to me. It's no great surprise that Advertising as an industry is so good at promoting itself as glamorous tbh... I'm patiently waiting for someone to shoehorn overblown soap storylines and a big-breasted woman forging a lonely path into the brown-suited and male-dominated world of IBM in the 60s. RATINNNNGGSSSS.
