Haha, they do. I get lots of stares doing them. The principle should be the same as doing regular curls flat against the wall, except with a cable, though. Some people think they're a gimmick, but I believe they just make it incredibly hard to cheat and ensure proper form. Worth a shot.

yeah, these are the best. I do them on the seated row machine because fuck lying on the floor like a peasant. The best thing about these and the same with spider curls is that you can lift you elbows a little and get a really good squeeze on the bicep. superset with regular curls for an amazing pump

Haha, I tried them on the row machine but they didn't quite give me the same type of isolation. I tried doing it in the 'bench press position' and it didn't quite work. Plus planting your feet against the machine's pillars is the best stablizer.

Not enough room in my gym to do that lying down, TBH. Will see if I can improvise.

It's literally across the road from my apartment, convenience along it'll be impossible to beat. Has a decent range of machines, just no double cable cross over thing.

Oh right, no we've got one of those four station units. Lat pull down, seated row, one overhead and another adjustable.

As I said, I'll try and improvise with one of those.

Seated row works for lots of people

I think if you're doing them like this: Image it's more for your stablizers.

But if you're lying down with you elbows in front of you like an extended preacher curl you get amazing isolation. I do them with a vbar and hit the outer head

I mgiht give those a shot when I start stalling on my current curls! Which may be in 2 months or so.

Many people swear by changing up your routine like almost weekly sometimes, but I don't think you can get an accurate reading of results or good progress unless you stick to something for at least 8 weeks or something.

Molzie, think it's been discussed before but what your forearm exercises?

Chest supported rows are also the greatest rows of all time.

I may replace the lat pulldown with pull-ups next week. They're hurting the space between my bicep and front delt when I do them, ugh. There's a weird 'clicking' sound in my arm when I do them and I have some more problems there.

I don't really directly train my forearms. I find they get a decent work out whenever I'm holding weight, eg deads, shrugs and bent over rows.

I did judo for 10 years and a lot of that is grip strength so I did a lot of forearm training then. The best exercise I found was really simple. You hold your arms straight out, with palms down, then flick all your fingers as you were trying to flick water off your hands (really concentrate on the flicking action). Do this as quick as you can and for a period of time (2-3 mins). It's like planking, it doesn't take long to get really hard.

alternatively, reverse barbell/cable curls are really good too.

We recently got a frame that holds like, 6 punching bags on it, and on one side of it it's got monkey bars. Just hanging on there is a good exercise for grip b2b forearms, I've found.
