Theres a lack of nights (imo) because people are chasing 130 "sinogrime" and a lack of venues for the right sound. I couldn't even count the clubs on one hand that I would say would replicate what I would want from a dubstep night.
Things are cheaper because its not the capital and your paid less for that privilege. Comparatively im actually better off here than I am in Kent.

I think London you either really like it or your really dont and its only after spending like 4 years coming up did I grow to really like it. Used to hate everything down to the way the air smelled once haha

I know why things are cheaper outside of London bro  But even relatively, I earn a more than decent wage, but knowing what I'd be paid if I went to work in London, it still doesn't make it worthwhile to me. I've just been able to buy a 3 bed, with a big garden, in a nice area on a great road, and we'll easily afford it. We were having a look at similar houses in different areas around London, and we're looking at anywhere between 3 and 10 times the price. I wouldn't be earning 3 to 10 times as much in London though! It's just too in demand, it's crazy.

Saw some report the other day that said houses in London earnt more than their owners on average last year. Probs doesn't hold up statistically, but it was just a pretty crazy illustration that the average house price went up more than the value of the average salary of a worker in London.

One day an entire day will pass without me posting about a member of Destiny's Child, but the expression on Jay-Z's face in this Vine of him and Beyonce is fucking priceless. Must....maintain....smile.....

Fuck London on the real though. Can't think of many more places that I'd rather not live in than London. Not a par to the people that live there, the place just vexes me.

As for the better standard of living/more opportunities/better government, I'm sure I'm not the only British person in here that's baffled by that statement. :cornlol:
gareth just give it up, you're part of the crowd that slates america for shallow musical taste and our shitty government and then when someone turns around and says yeah yuh know what i'd prefer the uk, you contrarianize yet again, no surprise, and put down your own country.
Lol, why are you so vexed? I've literally never once slated Americans for shallow music taste! At least half the bods on here are American you mong, I'm not gonna pack their tastes when I'm on the same music forum. Also, I don't get involved with discussions on America's government because it's the most boring discussion in world history. Ever. In fact, I'm basically in love with America. I'd move there and tbh, it's something I'm gonna be looking at doing in the future. Don't wanna BE American though.

I'm not putting down my own country, I'm just saying, it's not like it's any better than the US really.

......................

On the whole, I tend to agree with the views of many people in here haha. Just because I was baffled at you saying that you would change your nationality, basically for dubstep, don't mean I'm being contrary bro. :w:

If you're so passionate about dubstep, kick it off in your area. Don't just go to London and get swallowed up in a city where 1 in 3 people run their own night. Be the Pinch of wherever it is you live.
well for one maybe you misunderstood me with "change my nationality". i'd just take a trip there for a couple years, get a job try to do shit. and then leave eventually lol (like, before I'm 30 definitely). i'm not looking to "become a british person".

if you say so about not slating america okay man i'm not gonna look for examples but it seems like you slate pretty much everything. you definitely hate on dungeon. there's nothing wrong with dungeon - it's just beats and sub - it's not like it's the "new brostep" as some seem to think. and i like a lot of releases, not all of them, but many, so it's kinda annoying when people hate on it. if i hated on peverelist and appleblim incessantly. i think you would get pissed.

pinch of the us...... that sounds cool and all. but if it was remotely possible i think it would have happened to someone else already. i'm not trying to run a night or a label or anything. that shit can come later (if it comes at all). i just wanna make a shitload of awesome tunes and then when I feel like i've got like 20 release-able tunes, start sending shit out to labels. i want to get a release on a real label, not one that i started with 80 bucks for an isrc code for me and my friends to release shit on that no one will ever hear. and living so far away from where this all takes place puts you at a huge disadvantage imo.

You wouldn't find any. :W: I love America.
dubunked wrote:you definitely hate on dungeon. there's nothing wrong with dungeon - it's just beats and sub - it's not like it's the "new brostep" as some seem to think.
Out of interest, I searched my posts for "dungeon". You can do the same here. My last few posts relating to dungeon are:
Benton's dungeon was so so sick.
Then some posts defending people using the name.
For real, there was a lot of sick stuff. Looking through my discogs, got releases like:

Lurka - Tempted, Biome - Space, Benton - Skeptics/Thermo Stellar, Benton - Sinners/Necromancy, DJ Madd - Dub Marine, N-Type & Cyrus - Dark Frequency, DJ Madd - Blank Space EP, Commodo & Lurka - Airtight/Gassin

All black box/box clever I think.
Then a post talking about how good Kryptic Minds - One Of Us is. Then a post by me saying that I'm surprised people are still making it, but acknowledging that it's still new to people that have become aware of dubstep only recently. You even replied to that post by saying "I agree". and added this quote to the discussion
dubunked wrote:I'm saying that is an example of a dungeon track that I do like. It's not like I hate all of it. There are some gems in there but there are a lot of average, bland ones too.
Then there was this post:
I agree that Benton is a G, out of all the dungeon (or whatever) producers, his releases impressed me the most, his basses are siiiick.
And that's all the posts about dungeon I've made in like, 3 years. I even started The Dungeon Sound Mix Thread which is like, 16 pages of dungeon mixes. Here's my collection on discogs, see for yourself how much I hate dungeon. I swear you've got me confused with somebody else
dubunked wrote:and i like a lot of releases, not all of them, but many, so it's kinda annoying when people hate on it. if i hated on peverelist and appleblim incessantly. i think you would get pissed.
I wouldn't. People like different shit, and that's ok. You could say "Circling" is the worst tune ever. I'll disagree. It won't make me angry though.

Anyway man, whatever I've done to vex you, I'm sorry. But I genuinely do love America, and I'm guessing I've only ever said positive things about it on here.

Here, check this:
I <3 America
Or this. Or this. Or this. They're just some recent examples of me jumping to the defence of America and its way of life.

I think I've given enough evidence that I don't hate on dungeon either.

Yeah, nothing like a good old attack of character, especially when it's completely made up. Chill.

Ok, the rest of your post. Honestly, I think you'd have a bigger impact starting something in a new location, especially as people in london are either getting bored of dubstep in general, or promoters don't wanna put it on anymore. Either way, it means the impact of dubstep is less. You kick something off in an area that's starved for it, it'd make more of a difference imo. You can still be a "real" label away from London.

Do agree it makes it more difficult not having the face to face relationships and that.

nah plenty of real labels (dubstep ones) across the UK and EU but not in other continents really. I'm sure there's one in NZ or AU but still..
