Everyone puts white lies on their CV though and I wouldn't do it for a proper full time job I was applying for.

I'm talking about when I was firing CVs into the likes of Tesco or Primark, I don't really give a fuck about integrity. When it comes to applying for graduate jobs I'm obviously not going to do that.
It goes full circle. I've mentioned on here that if I were to apply for another job outside of my current company, given my working history there is no reason why I shouldn't jack up my university mark just for the hell of it.

Doubt anyone will ever check whether I got a 2:2 or a 1st from a redbrick polytechnic over 10yrs ago

Jesus, 10yrs. Fuck I feel old. What if I have a midlife crisis, pack up my UK life and fuck off somewhere hot?
magma wrote:"In my spare time I'm happiest sitting in a circle of friends in St Andrew's Park, knitting world peace out of granola and hemp and playing Joni Mitchell songs on my Organic Ukulele."
I'd invite someone in for an interview if they wrote that just for the craic
Agent 47 wrote:"I am a passionate musician and enjoy both making and listening to a variety of music. I'm also interested in Illustration and Graphic Design and like to do freelance work in my spare time for friends and family. I have really enjoyed my time since moving to Bristol and appreciate everything the city has to offer. Finding a job would be ideal as I hope to stay for as long as possible. "
I was going to suggest taking out the last line as it makes you sound needy, but reading it again it's actually quite endearing and refreshingly honest. See so many CVs that are vanilla as fuck, good to see one with a bit of character in it :Q:

But Why wub?
Given your work history, do you seriously think they'd give much of a fuck about the grades you received 10 years ago?

Yo agent, since you hate weed, you should join a party that opposes it harshly. Would look sick on a CV.

Really?

I'm so glad I work in IT. My real personality would never get given a good job.
Bear in mind that I work in IT too. Just when I've looked at CVs, the one's that impress me are the people that are at least interesting. I've seen plenty of drone type characters come in, with plenty of technical knowledge, but fail completely because they have nothing about them, interests, social skills, whatever, that imo are necessary in a client-heavy world.

Edit: Putting it simply, I don't think it's gonna do any harm having your interests on your CV, especially if they're, well, interesting, and you never know, it might catch somebody's eye and help you stand out. Especially in a pub I'd imagine!
