am i being dumb but surely people should start trying to release tunes that sound more like the rips, quite often this year i've bought records and found it to lack the intensity of the rip

Sure it's not just that some tunes sound better mixed or that you've listened to a rip so many times you're familiar with how it sounds in that particular mix?

i mean in particular in my head, i'm thinking about electrocution dub and magneto vip (and possibly demonator), tunes that like roaaaaared on the rip and just dont quite do the same on the vinyl release, i'm saying if as people say people are finishing tracks up and going for a cleaner more polished sound that that might not be the answer and perhaps people should experiment with making their tracks a bit dirtier

yeah i heard that, i'm sure there are bare reasons for it and i know nothing about production, but maybe like how in techno there's people going for that dirty analog sound, dubstep producers should spend less time filing the corners off their tunes for releases?

^mixture of studio compression, possible EQ boosts/tweaks on the DJs end, could be pitched up/down slightly.

Ppl generally prefer warmer sounding mixes, but guaranteed if you a/b'ed the rip & the mastered version on a system/big monitors you would hear a big difference.

Also don't undervalue how much hearing an mc/dj getting hype in the background could subliminally make you rate the tune more
