I propose the following line be taken by Russia:
Putin flew back from Europe over the area 25 minutes before the takedown.
American agents in the Ukraine, knowing this, inserted themselves amongst separatists
and blew what they thought was Putin's aircraft out of the sky with a captured Ukrainian missile battery.
