My dream is to have a job like wobbles on here, some ultra bureaucratic paper-shuffling government job where I can browse dsf bants all day. Oassionally redirect someone on the phone to call someone else.

Its boring as fuck, there is only so many times you can read and type the same dull shit out over and over or read someone else doing it before you have to step back and re-evaluate

Alright I have some more Uni questions....maybe its getting a bit long now but yall been helpful thus far, so.

I'm currently in a position of not (not yet?) having received any answer on my conditional offers. I didn't meet the conditions for them. Is it at all possible they'd let me in? TBH I doubt this as there has to be more qualified people who were closer to reaching the conditions. Still, I haven't explicitly received a "you didn't make it" note. Do they actually directly answer like that through UCAS? If so, when?

Second, I'm now looking at other courses to apply to through clearing. I'm pretty sure I have the grades to take Social Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian Uni. What is Social Sciences like? It sounds moderately interesting to me, but does anyone have any knowledge of it? Also, does anyone know wether GCU is good/decent for studying that? Liam, I know you took nursing but do you have a clue?

I have a really hard time trying to work out if the mixes i record are ok or utter shite? Usually if there is no clanging then its ok but there is so much more to it than that that i just dont seem to be able to grasp.

Like I record everything now and I *think* this is ok up to about 20 mins but really it could be awful from the first blend.. I suppose this is just me jumping on and throwing whatever together but still.

I'm pretty sure I have the grades to take Social Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian Uni. What is Social Sciences like? It sounds moderately interesting to me, but does anyone have any knowledge of it?

what exactly is your question? you don't know what social sciences are? econ, psych, sociology, politics, anthropology, criminal justice, etc. aka 'soft sciences'

easier than math, science, engineering, etc. harder than english (or Norwegian in your case i guess), communication, humanities, arts, etc. approx the same difficulty as business, history, law, language. (all IMO)

not many essays, but some. more test based than essays.

if you have the chance to major in just "social sciences", i would definitely go for it (if you're interested obviously). i always wanted to do something like that. thought about creating my own major which would be basically a mix of sociology, psych, econ, politics, and anthro, but i couldn't be arsed so i just settled on one.

pretty pointless doing anything other than a physical science imho, unless you are really interested in the subject/just want to have a laugh and experience uni.

I'm moderately into having some knowledge. History/social science and so on is pretty interesting from what I know. Most importantly I wanna delay adulthood tbh, cus if this temp job I'm in is anything to go by, I'm not ready for years and years of that lol

yeah man go for it then just make sure you pick something relatively interesting, which social sciences sounds like it is imo

Yeah i am sure you can you just have to make sure the things you could do would be worth like 40 grand, and that a degree in the subject is essential for them.

how bout a lawyer? or a stock broker?

there is basically no major that is 100% essential for any job in undergrad. i heard of someone who went to medical school after majoring in religious studies

Harkat, I ain't sure what it's like for social sciences, it's a good uni in general though, just doesn't have the prestige of somewhere like Glasgow Uni.

I don't know what you mean by majoring, i am talking about the u.k which is where harkat will be doing his degree.
