When the arrangement sounds complete and the mix is balanced.

When I get so tired of hearing it I no longer want to add any more elements. Although I'm getting better at getting my ideas out quicker, sticking to what's simple, and moving on to the next track before I'm bored of the previous one, which has lead to making better tracks overall.

But there is always the issue of finding that balance isn't there? I mean you have to be careful that you don't add too much, and then you add too much and get confused and risk fucking up the whole tune. Or, you add too little and keep wondering whether it IS actually enough or whether you need to add more. This sort of thing is trial and error i Know, but it can drive you crazy if your not in the mood.

When you ask for feedback, and all you get in response is... "320"?

when I'm willing to pay around 60 bucks for mastering & cutting, and I don't regret it when I hear it the first time on a big soundsystem

When Burial come to my room and says this "Oi m8 that's a sick track!".
Seriously, I don't know, maybe when I feel it does not need more sounds or tweaking.
