I just opened up the world of grime to like 30 hip hop heads tonight. Me & my m8 got booked to play at like a hiphop / house / dnb / dubstep night and the people before us played hip hop and the crowd was getting down to it so i was like yo let's start off with some grime to keep them in the mood and we played like 30 mins grime / 30 mins dubstep and slowly transitioned from grime to dubstep and people were coming up to us afterwards saying the best feedback i've ever heard after a set like "yo that was the most inspirational shit i've ever heard" and asking for links and all that.

i told some of the rappers to freestyle over a bunch of instrumentals like pulse x, percy, etc and it was perfect cause they were like involved in the set in a way.

aka it was pretty awesome.

Well fucking done you :Q:

Now, record a mix where play grime instrumentals and get the locals to MC over it :4:

Also Wub's idea to record a mix of instrumentals and get them to mc on it is spot on, this is EXACTLY what you should do

Had a lovely evening last night @NTS studio listening to Marcus from Hyperdub play 2 hours of tunes i'd never heard + being a rather safe guy

(sample question: 'how'd you get into managing labels?' 'oh well I grew up with Grant who started Rephlex and Richard James so they just sorted me out' :o :o :o )

Now been asked to co-produce Slimzee's show next Thurs, then FWD>> straight after round the corner.
