It isn't only analog sytnhs with vintage reputation: Yamaha FM synths, Nord Lead, Nord Lead 2(x), Access Virus A, B and C, some people even go in for the 90's romplers, lots of coveted samplers are all digital, The Electribes as you mention--the series recently got a re-boot. Both looking tits. This whole "nu-analog" craze makes it look a bit like people only care about old analog gear and not old digital gear. Not true at all.

I still think by the time all these USB-only controllers are old enough to be "vintage" it'll be a massive pain to even try to implement USB. MIDI has already stood the test of time as well as CV because both are part of a niche market--USB could easily become extinct.

I forgot about FM synths, analog is hard to cut it with apparently
