the docs that revolve around kubric are literally mind blowing

but i've renamed them so i dont know which ones ive seen, but the one that takes the name from the room in shining is among them.

super inspirational stuff... not least with how much info he could cram into stuff and still keep all the planes tidy!

Saw Event Horizon last night, that was rubbish. Why are there so few space horror/space tension/dark shit in space films? Alien is one of the best films ever IMO but that's like the only good one. Sunshine is pretty strong too. Are there any noteworthy films in that genre besides those?

I also saw Enemy, the Canadian one with Jake Gyllenhaal, which I liked.

solyaris (the original) is the dad of that and imo film in general

also enemy is quite similar to 'possession' (the sam neil one) but possession is soooooo good.

My Dad took my Mum to see Rosemary's Baby on one of their first dates. She's never properly forgiven him.

Great film, though. Chilling.

Moon is great obviously, sadly ive seen that

theres too few though. It's the sickest setup ever for films, but there are so few good ones.

surely space odyssey has that title

ive seen the george clooney solaris, which was alright, but didn't play to the tension so much and was too directly about the philosophical interpersonal stuff. Like, it barely needed to be in space to get its point across.

Man, Alien is just the perfect fucking movie.

I was actually discussing this the other day, there really isn't enough of them. Waivering sanity in space really is one of the best setups for films.

I've had Sunshine recorded for absolutely ages but haven't watched it for some reason, will get on that.

Maybe I was a bit harsh on Europa Report, it gets the atmosphere right, it's just kinda boring. Maybe still worth a watch if you haven't seen it Harkat.

The Clooney version is the dullest thing ever...

Plus the fact I want to inflict physical pain on him

You are the one being snide in that thread and right now, mate.

There's no other reason to mentioning that there's a newer shit version, unless you just want to think the other one is bad. I don't even want to entertain the idea why you might think it is, but it has nothing to do with the film.

And I actually just said and ? to give you an in to explain that entirely negative post that had little relevance.

event horizon is a good film but a bit too gory and blood splatter in places which destracts from any subtly it may have in terms of tension etc.
